Be a Sponsor of the A Cappella Choir
The A Cappella Choir thrives on donations and fund-raising efforts conducted by our members and our parent boosters (Choral Parents Inc.). Each year, students sell fruit at Christmas and Virginia Diner nuts (yum!) in September. Each student has an "account" in our treasury and what they earn is held for them and used to defray the costs of trips to competitions and other choral activities.
Last year, the choir traveled to New York City to compete in a Heritage Festivals event.
We need your help. A donation to the A Cappella Choir helps us defray the overall costs of these trips for each student. Your dollars also go to help fund regular activities throughout the year as well.
We offer several levels of giving, and we hope you will consider joining your fellow alumni who have already become regular sponsors of The A Cappella Choir.
And here's an extra incentive: All donations are tax-deductible and all donors are recognized in our concert programs. In addition, members of the White Level, the Red & White Club, and the Director's Circle receive a CD of the Christmas and Spring concerts (from the donation year). And, while supplies last, all donors contributing $105 or more have the option of receiving their very own memento -- a genuine red and white choir robe!

Hey, Alumni! Want Your Old Robes?
Guess what? We finally found the money to buy new choir robes! Can you believe it? Some of our now-retired robes have been around for ... well, let's just say they'd been around for a long, long time.
Of course, that means we now have about 100 robes just hanging around. So in the middle of a very hot summer, we came up with a brilliant idea ... offer them to you!
That's right. For the mere donation of $105, you can own a PHS A Cappella Choir robe ... maybe even the same robe you wore however long ago (and we aren't telling how long ago that might have been, either). Here's how it works:
- Donate $105 (or more). That's exactly what it cost to replace one robe.
- We'll send you a robe in return. What can you do with it?
Well, we're glad you asked, because we have a few suggestions. We heard that some people are framing them in shadowboxes along with that copy of music from their senior year that for some reason just never made it back to the files ...
And we also heard that some other folks planned to use it for Trick or Treating. And we even heard a rumor that others were planning to buy several to donate to their churches.
The point is, it's a visual memory of some of the best times you had in high school. Whether you choose to frame it, wear it, store it in the attic, or give it away, you have the satisfaction of knowing you've contributed to a great organization ... and you're continuing the Long Red Line of singers from the PHS A Cappella Choir.- Interested?
