The February meeting of the A Cappella Choir
Boosters was held in the choir room. Minutes from the previous meeting
were distributed. Please check our website for additional updates,

Reports were given on the following events.
Caroling for Cash brought in $1,701.00!!
Thanks to all the drivers and those who sang and Paula Schuchts, Chairman.
Stage Decorations for the Concert -
Special thanks to Jamie Witkosky and Angie Wells! Your touches were
beautiful. Next year we need to have some additional help on this
committee.
Reception - The reception following the
concert was great! Kristy Williams is our official punch lady.
Thanks to Kalpana Shah, Susan Dickerson, Linda McCormick and all who helped
with set up, serve and clean up.
Ohio University Honor Choir event was canceled
due to snow.
All State Chamber Choir – Thirteen
students represented PHS in Charleston this weekend with a concert at the Clay
Center. Eight freshman were part of the Jr. High Honor Choir as
well. Mrs. McClain commented on the impressive audition scores from our
students!
Future Events
Solo and Ensemble will be February 5and
6. Friday night will be piano performance at First Lutheran Church and
Saturday starting at 9 AM , vocals will take place at OVU and instrumental at
Parkersburg South.
Boosters are running concessions at OVU on
Saturday. Volunteers are needed to work shifts throughout the day.

Exchange Concert with Augustana College from
Rolling Rock , Illinois will take place on February 24 at 6PM. This will
be held at Stout Memorial Church. We are helping to provide housing that
night for these students, and breakfast the next morning, returning them to
Stout Memorial by 8 AM. We still need more hosts for this event.

Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction Fundraiser will
be February 27th. Doors will open
at 4:30 at Stout Memorial Church and dinner will be served from 5 – 7.
Auction winners will be announced at 7PM.
We need everyoneÕs help to raise funds to help our choir. We want them
all to be able to go to NYC ! Here are the ways you can help :
donate a silent auction item ( or ask a business ) , bring smaller items for
raffle baskets, sell tickets , come and work, sing ! Please try to
help in many ways so we can be successful. Email Shelley Capel (capeltw@suddenlink.net)
to sign up for shifts to cook on Friday or cooking , set up , serving and more
on Saturday. We need you! A plea has also gone out for dessert
donations to be brought in to school on Friday morning, February 26.
Raffle baskets for smaller items were divided
up into themes as follow:
Sopranoes–
chocolate
Sophomores – patriotic
Bass – WVU
tailgate
Juniors – car wash
Tenor – movie theme
night
Seniors – PHS spirit
Alto – pampering
Auction and raffle items need to be in by
February 19th.
Each student received tickets for $5 each to
sell. You can get more tickets by getting tickets from another student
who is unable to sell or if you email Shelley she will sent them in to school
for you.
March 4th
-6th will be the Music Educators National
Conference in Charleston. Eight students are auditioning for a chance to
participate in this event.
April 14th
– 18th – Carnegie Hall
!! 127 people are going ! We are staying in the Park Central Hotel
on 7th Ave. It is right across from Carnegie
Hall. Our concert will be at 8PM on April 17th.
Check your payment totals . Totals were up to date as of the booster
meeting. The treasurer has to continue to pay out money for buses etc. so
your continued efforts to fulfill your payment plans are essential.
Our next booster meeting will be Monday, March
1st. See you there!
