7:00 PM

The  October meeting of A Cappella Choir Boosters began at 7:00 PM.  Peggy Noffsinger read the minutes of the last meeting and Whitney Davis gave the treasurerÕs report.  Lori Brooks reminded everyone about our website, www.acappellachoir.com .  A calendar of events, minutes of the last meeting, a list of boosters and choir pictures are all found on this site.  There will also be a picture cd available for you to borrow if you would like copies of some of the pictures on the website.

Donna Kramer is leading our choir robe committee this year.  Robes have been fitted , cleaned and some sewing is being completed.  Thanks to all who helped!  It has run very smoothly so far.

A big thanks went out to Jerry and Sherry Kelly for overseeing the Air Show fund raiser.  Jerry attended multiple meetings on our behalf and organized  our  workers.  We do not have the final check at this time but think we made between $600 - $800.  There were many compliments about the attitude and willingness to do what was asked – so great job volunteers and students!

The Virginia Diner Nut Sale has been completed.  Great job everyone!  Delivery should be the first or second week of November.  Our estimated profit is around $6000.  Those parents who signed up to help will be called for delivery day.

The fruit sale will begin October 17th and run through November 7th.  Delivery for the fruit is anticipated  on December 5th.  Volunteers may continue to sign up to help on delivery day – many hands are needed.  Contact Angie Siers or any of the officiers if you can help.  Amy Sinclair, Juli Cramer and Angie Siers have agreed to tally our  order forms.

The choir will be singing with the WV Symphony on December 13th and 14th at the Clay Center in Charleston, WV and at Blennerhasset School on December 15th.  Students will leave school at 11 AM and return around midnight on December 13th.  On the Saturday performance, they will leave the high school by 4PM and again return midnight or later.  For our Sunday performance, students are to meet at Blennerhasset School.  Parents who are interested are encouraged to seek tickets online or by phone at The Clay Center.  There may be some seats available on the bus going to Charleston.

The A Cappella Christmas Concert will be held December 22nd at 7:30 PM in the school auditorium.

The Ninth Grade Christmas Concert will be Saturday, December 20th at 7:00 PM..

There will be a need for volunteers to hand out programs,  help with donation boxes,  assist with reception following A Cappella  Concert and decorating.

Caroling for Cash is scheduled for December 19th from 5 – 8 .  Drivers will be needed to help that night, as well as volunteers helping with refreshments.

Plans are ongoing for the choirÕs competition trip to Toronto, Canada.  The choir will be traveling April 23 – April 26, 2009.  The cost is estimated to be $485  and is all inclusive.  Chaperones attending will need to pay the same amount and are reminded that with the trip comes responsibilites.

All State Choir rehearsals are ongoing.  Auditions will be November 15 at Fairmont State.

A Cappella rehearsals are now men and women together.  The times are posted on the website and in the classroom.  Mrs. McClain stressed the importance of being on time for rehearsals.

Our next booster meeting will be Monday, November 3, at 7:00 PM in the choir room.
